[Video] Doctors Speak Out on Cell Phone Radiation Issue
In this clip from the Disconnect documentary, a number of experts in the medical field voice their concerns about cell phone phone safety. They all have seen the available epidemiological data related to the effects of mobile phone radiation and emphasize the need for taking precautionary measures to reduce any potential dangers.
Here are excerpts from the video:
David Katz, MD, MPH,
Founding Director, Prevention Research Center, Yale University School of Medicine:
“What really pertains here is the precautionary principle. The burden of proof is on the industry and those who want to say there is no risk involved…. Of course the big worry is that children are now using mobile phones extensively and that was never the case before. And so we’re not looking for the first time at lifelong exposure, decades of exposure. And nobody knows what the implications of that might be.
“There are a couple of things about potential increase in cancer risk associated with cell phone use that would make it very hard to identify at this point. One is, the time line for the development of cancer tends to be protracted. For most cancers, it’s minimally a decade. For many it’s two decades and for some it’s longer than that. And, consequently, if we’ve been using cell phones for about a decade in the U.S., widespread use, it’s simply too soon. It’s really just now that we would start to see the effect in terms of cancer development.”
Santosh Kesari, MD, PhD,
Director of Neuro-Encology, UCSD Moores Cancer Center:
“People need to be aware that there is this epidemiological data out there that is linking electromagnetic radiation and health effects… And certainly cell phones are something everyone uses a lot, and it’s in close proximity to the body. So I think it’s not unreasonable to inform the consumers about these effects and giving information that allows the consumer to make judgments about how they use the cell phones.”
Mitchell Berger, MD,
Chairman, Dept. of Neurological Surgery, UCSF and President, American Association of Neurological Surgeons:
“I think it’s not unwise to take precations, meaning, for example, instead of having the cell phone up against your ear you could have a microphone that’s distant, such as on a cord. You could talk into the microphone, you could have an earphone .”
Devra Davis, PhD, MPH,
Founding Director, Environmental Health Trust; Lead Author, Intergovernmental Panel of Climate Change:
“When my 8-month old grandson showed that he was really smart with the phone, I began to get curious about what we knew about cell phones and what I found really concerned me. I learned that other countries, namely Israel and England, had already issued warnings that children should not even use cell phones. I began to do research on this about seven years ago. The brain of a child absorbs twice as much radiation as an adult. That’s a stunning fact. Few people are aware of that, and we are marketing phones, pushing advertising with E-Trade babies talking into cell phones, and children running business with little phones as though they’re benign devices.”

The reported issues with cellphones have animism as a basis for the concerns. While epidemiology is a useful tool, it is insufficient to scientifically establish reproducible causes and effects, that is discover and verify the actual mechanisms that are causes and verification of the reported effects in a manner that can be replicated by other scientists. Primitive magic, as used in this article, will always stir emotions and pocketbooks. If the counter mantra is “better to be safe than sorry”, it is clear that “sorry” rules the roost here.
Now a days cell phone radiation has became a major issue of discussion. Many people are concerned that cell phone radiation will cause cancer or other serious health hazards. The weight of scientific evidence has not linked cell phones with any health problems.
A number of sources claim brain cancer and tumors have been caused by the excessive use of mobile phones. As these emits radiations.
It is obvious from the comments above, that people would prefer to destroy an entire planet using pulsed electromagnetic radiation, rather than give up the illusion that this event is not actually taking place.
I’ve read over 100,000 pages of peer reviewed studies over a period of 30 years, and posess an extensive background in electronics engineering and design. I also hold credentials in wave probagation theory, and have extensivly studied the effects of EM radiation on biological cells and tissues. The established fact is that electromagnetic radiation is a biological and environmental hazard, and there are over 3,700 scientific studies to support the evidence. Time to grow up folks.
whenever any problem has raised in the world of technology our expert technicians always have tried to find the solution similarly now they have found the solution for this radiation problem also.
